XPS 410, Q9400?

Just picked up an old Dell xps 410 for $20, I was wondering if it would be compatible with an intel core 2 quad  Q9400. And what RAM it is compatible with, thanks for any help.

The specs from the support page list a Core 2 Duo as the compatible CPU not a quad. As for memory DDR2 800 with a maximum of 1 GB in each slot for a total of 4 GB. And you are right, that system is around 13 years old.

Q9400 should not be an issue.

Max ram is 8  gigs using LOW DENSITY NON ECC NON BUFFERED DDR2.

However upgrading may cost more than a newer faster system.

I call these free computers because the cost of the windows license is more than the cost of the unit with windows.
