XPS 8300, power button, works intermittently

Power bottom works sometimes. When working green light in rear light is on.

Could be the power module acting up. Does the power button LED light up when it won't boot, and is it steady or blinking?

Some users have successfully used electronic contact cleaner spray on the power button from inside the case. Be sure PC is unplugged, and you press/hold the power button for ~15 sec beforehand, and make sure the cleaner doesn't drip on other parts or components.

Others have replaced the entire module. I see them for sale at ~$20 - $30 from various sources. Check the Service Manual for details to replace the module.

no power button led light doesn't light when unit won't boot. However when I unplug unit it boots right up and computer works fine.  Until next attempt, to start. thanks
