XPS 8900, BIOS 2.4.0

Hello,

After I pressed the power button, the pc screen shows epsa build 4302.15 uefi rom. It also says alert! Keyboard not found. Then the pc will restart and repeat the process.

Does anyone know what is wrong with the pc?

Thanks.

Wired or wireless keyboard?

Do you have to replace keyboard batteries?

Do keyboard lights come on to show it has power?

Did you try a different rear USB port on PC?

Can you test this keyboard on a different PC or a different keyboard on this PC?

When was last time you replaced the motherboard battery?

You can try clearing BIOS to see if that error will disappear:

  1. Power off, unplug
  2. Press/hold power button for ~15 sec
  3. Open case and remove motherboard battery (check Service Manual for details)
  4. Press/hold power button for ~30 sec
  5. Install a fresh CR2032 3-volt coin cell battery, ~$2
  6. Close up and connect mouse, monitor and keyboard
  7. Reboot

BTW: What color is the power button when you get that error and is it steady or blinking? If it's blinking amber, count the blinks because that's an error code.
