XPS 8900, NAS Drive Must Be Remapped Each Reboot

With an XPS 8900, an existing Z:/ drive must be disconnected and remapped after every reboot. Furthermore, the remapping requires re-entering the NAS drive password before mapping can complete. This issue occurred after Update 2004 was installed. This issue has not been corrected with any 2004 patch updates.

However an Inspiron 7373 2-1 does not have this issue. The Inspiron only has a slight delay before connecting to the NAS drive due to network latency.

Has anyone seen this issue? I'd appreciate any SWAGs. Thanks Y'all,

Home Group and Peer to Peer SMB workgroups are removed from windows 10. Microsoft's intentions are to "force" people to use their so called "One Drive" feature and require microsoft account to do that.  They don't want you to have private cloud.

https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-networking/connecting-pcs-users-for-sharing-xp-vista-7-8-10/fb92e439-5dbc-4367-9857-1ef360e9ffdf

Microsoft has removed the Homegroup from Windows 10 by default.
It still shows up in file explorer but it now does absolutely nothing.
HomeGroup has been removed from Windows 10 (Version 1803 and newer).
However, even though it has been removed, you can still share printers
and files by using features that are built into Windows 10.

To learn how to share printers in Windows 10, see Share your network printer.

To learn how to share files, see Share files in File Explorer.

What’s changed?

After you update your PC to Windows 10 (Version 1803):

HomeGroup won’t appear in File Explorer.

HomeGroup won’t appear in Control Panel, which means that you can’t create, join, or leave a homegroup.

HomeGroup won’t appear on the Troubleshoot screen when you go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot .

You won’t be able to share new files and printers using HomeGroup.

Note: The HomeGroup (view) and HomeGroup (view and edit) options still appear in Windows 10 (Version 1803 or later) when you right-click a folder in File Explorer and then point to Give access to. However, neither option does anything. To share a file or folder, select Specific people from the same shortcut menu instead.

It costs less in the long run to own your cloud but its not cheap.

The cheap versions are not expandable or scaleable.

I can access my WD mycloud from anywhere on the internet where they dont block access to the NAS ports.
