XPS 8910, blinking orange light?
My friend has a problem with his motherboard where his power button would keep on blinking orange and never turn on. The power supply seems to be working fine as the LED lights up as green. The orange light blinks in a pattern of 3 (pauses) then 6 (pauses) and then repeats. Need help on fixing this problem and actually making it turn on... thanks.

Green LED on back IS NOT GOOD POWER SUPPLY indicator.
It simply means 120v is available.
The Blink pattern indicates specific hardware failure.
You tried to flash bios with malware or antivirus software and you borked the board. its now dead.

When was last time the motherboard battery was replaced? I'd do that before going any further, if nothing more than to rule the battery out.
