XPS 8930, USB boot assistance?

Question

My 8930 is taking ages to reboot and I read that it may be checking all attached USB drives(several) for boot info and that is causing the delay(over 1 minute from Dell logo to desktop with an NVMe drive) and disconnecting all USB drives does solve the issue(15 seconds from Dell logo to desktop). I went into BIOS and disabled USB boot assistance which didn't seem to help, but it did disable my wireless mouse, but not keyboard, which share the same dongle?! Anyway, is there a way to stop the PC from checking USB drives for boot info and speeding the process? Thanks

Check in the BIOS that under Boot Option Priorities that Boot Option #1 is Windows Boot Manager.

@godzillaatemyhomework - If Windows Boot Manager is first on the boot priority list in BIOS setup and the problem persists, at the desktop click Start>Run> and type in msconfig and press OK.

When msconfig opens, click the Boot tab and see how many boot options are listed there. If more than one, change the default to the other option and save the change. Now reboot see if that helps. If it solves the problem, you can either leave the problem option on the list, as long as it's not set as the default or you can delete it...

You could try clearing BIOS: Reboot and tap F2 to open BIOS setup when you see the prompt in lower right corner of Dell splash screen Copy down all current BIOS settings, to be safe Power off, unplug Press/hold power button for ~15 sec Open case and remove motherboard battery (check Service Manual for details) Press/hold power button for ~30 sec Reinstall the battery Close up and connect mouse, monitor and keyboard Reboot

Is the USB mouse/keyboard dongle connected to one of the 2 rear USB2 ports? Have you tried the other rear USB2 port?
