XPS 8930, added 3rd party RAM, trying to enable XMP

In the BIOS, 'Performance Options' doesn't seem to be selectable (is greyed out). Also tried the Intel Extreme Tuning Utility, but for some reason, Advanced Tuning lists only Core/Cache/Graphics, but not Memory (where I believe is where the XMP setting is supposed to be). Any idea? Some background - machine came with 8GB (with a single memory stick from apparently Samsung according to CPU-Z). Added a Ballistic Tactical, which said it's also DDR4-2666 but seems to be running at 2400 according to CPU-Z). So from my googling XMP is what I should use to have it run as it should. Is the problem that the Samsung says 'No' for XMP? (even though that one is running at the speed I want...)
