XPS 8940 Bios Update Reports Success But Does Not Update 2.9.0 to 2.10.0

Hello,

For a few weeks now support assist reports a bios update, as its done many times before. This time version 2.9.0 to 2.10.0. I do the update in the usual way, seems to have success, reboots. But then it says its still on 2.9.0. I checked in the bios and it reported 2.9.0. I downloaded dells tool and it reports 2.9.0. I tried from the tool to run the firmware update, again reporting success, rebooting, and then no change - still 2.9.0. I put it on a flash drive, hit F12, selected flash bios, it found the file, did the update, still reporting 2.9.0. Any ideas?
