XPS 8940, Ethernet issues

I have had problems with the Ethernet connection since April. All was fine till then but I started losing connection every 10 minutes or so and my hub would reboot. I'd get connected again just for the same thing to keep repeating. I connect now using USB Type-C to Ethernet adapter which gives me no problem whatsoever. Has anyone had this problem? I have Virgin Media Superhub 3 router.
