XPS 8940, Parts Carryover
I am considering upgrading from my XPS 8920 to the 8940 at some point in the future. Will my current power supply (a 750w ATX12V) fit in the case? If not, what form factors will fit in the case so that I can upgrade accordingly?

@tedneweb Your power supply will not fit. The XPS 8940 PSU is a new form factor. Search this forum, there are discussions on this subject. Here is one: https://www.dell.com/community/XPS-Desktops/XPS-8940-PSU-upgrade-to-850W-that-fits-inside-the-case/td-p/7781721

Okay, would an SFX form factor fit?
Example: The Corsair RM850x measures at 6.3" x 5.91" x 3.39". Would that fit in the case?

NO. SFX wont fit because the power supply connectors are totally proprietary.
There is no adapter that converts the 24 pin and dual 4 pin proprietary G5 8940 7080 power supply.
Despite what the buzz word posters are saying. There is no conversion and there is no unit that fits correctly in the case.
I just ordered a bare bones 3640 on sale and its not expected to arrive before tax time aka April 15th.
I was curious to see how long it would take.

8940 and the G5 and the Optiplex 7080 use totally proprietary power supply and case so there is ZERO carry over.
If you want to keep standard parts I suggest you buy a Precision 3640 TOWER model.
