XPS 8940, is the VisionTek Radeon 5450 compatible?

Is the VisionTek Radeon 5450 compatible with Dell XPS 8940 Desktop? I'm not looking to create a gaming system, just improve graphics over the onboard GPU.

It is a descent mid level video card for general PC usage and should work fine. Read through the online XPS 8940 Service Manual for installation instructions.

Chris M is correct.  HD 5450 will work in this modern XPS 8940.

Re: I'm not looking to create a gaming system, just improve graphics over the onboard GPU.

not sure whether it will be improvement or detriment.  seems if you replace UHD630 w HD5450 you would be intentionally downgrading video performance significantly, unless I am missing something here.

The integrated UHD630 of XPS8940 is 500% faster than HD5450.

Using UHD630 you can smoothly stream/play 4k video, not with the old HD5450.

UserBenchmark: AMD Radeon HD 5450 vs Intel UHD Graphics 630 (Desktop Coffee Lake i5 i7)

some video card spec

UHD630: DirectX 12 (12_1) OpenGL 4.6 OpenCL 3.0 Vulkan 1.2 Shader Model 6.4
vs
HD5450 Memory: 1GB GDDR3 DirectX® 11 Support OpenGL® 4.5 Open CL™ 1.2

I would Recommend an RX560 instead.  5450 is a legacy card and only supports directx 11.  Wont work with WINDOWS11.
