XPS 8950, support Gen 5 M.2 PCIe SSD?

Title says it. When the new Gen 5 M.2 PCIe SSD become available, will the Dell Z960 motherboard support those drives in the empty M.2 slot?  Certainly the Gen 4 are available from Samsung, Crucial, etc. And of course the gen 3 for a much lower cost. Maybe the Gen 4 cost will go down when the Gen 5 is on the shelves?

I would not think so as this article explains.  Alder Lake does not have Gen 5 support on its native M.2 slots. And I believe you meant to post Z690 and not Z960.

Finding this post in a Laptop section sort of surprised me.  But the ASUS motherboards appear to be using a PCIe extension card for the M.2 PCIe 5.0 options.  You might keep an eye out for something like that from Dell.

I also get the impression cooling on those systems will be more critical than previous motherboards/devices.  I watched a video from the folks that develop those standards and it appears they are already working on PCIe 6.0.
