If you open the device manager and look in the Network adapters section, what do you see regarding a Wi-Fi adapter?

If you don't see one then change to view to show hidden devices and see if you see one then.

Some driver installs will be blocked, depending on what is currently installed and where you got the driver.

My system came with an Intel Wireless-AC 8265 and I am currently running the 20.70.12.5 version of the driver.

You should remove your service tag..

If a device is not showing up in the Device Manager, it means the Bios is not seeing it when it boots the system.  The device could be faulty or for some reason the Bios is ignoring it.  You might try disabling it in the Bios, then rebooting a couple of times before re-enabling.  That might wake it up.

Otherwise, download a driver, probably from Intel and have it ready.  Then go offline and uninstall the device, hidden or otherwise and remove all drivers.  After uninstall, install the new driver and don't go back online until the install is complete.

Have you experienced any situations related to the situation which might be a contributing factor, such as power loss or surge?  Since the Wi-Fi/Bluetooth adapter is soldered in, you really can't just change it out.

Hi.

The network driver is the Intel Kernel one which I had to click "Show hidden devices" thing to see.

I rebooted last night and wiped out everything hoping wifi tile at least reappears. None. And network drivers is blank when I open the Contorl Panel>Network System stuff.

So looked for drivers on Dell Site.

But couldn't INSTALL "Intel 3165/7265/8260/8265 wifi driver". Downloaded it onto phone and connected to laptop but Intel ProSet/Wireless Software says "This software package cannot be installed on your system" which is ODD cuz I downloaded it from Dell Drivers with the CORRECT SERVICE TAG

1.Disable what in Bios?

2.Driver should be downloaded from Intel site? What driver?

3.Uninstall what Device?

4.How do I remove all drivers?

5."Install New driver"? The one from Intel site?

Could you answer those by number? Not really techy lol. Just YouTube everything.

In the brink of tears lol. Thank you so much for helping me out right now.

In the Device Manager, if a device is not showing up, the system does not recognize it, as I mentioned earlier.  Did you try disabling the Wi-Fi in the Bios?  If you can get it to show up, you can't install a driver.

If you got the Ethernet adapter with the unit, you could perhaps use that and load those drivers.  It should show up in the Device Manager.

If you don't know, you can open the Device Manager by right clicking the start button and selecting it on the popup menu..

There is a function key which turns the Wi-Fi on and off..  The same thing will happen if you were to have Airplane mode selected..

I didn't remove Wifi in the Bios. The 2 checks are there.

There's no ethernet anything on my Device Manager.

Fn key only turned on/off airplane mode.

Anything else you think we can try? Losing it lol

If it is a new system, you could call Dell and let them check it.  If it is faulty, and it might be, you could return it and have it replaced if you do it within the time period.

On the phone Dell will want to get control of the system and run some tests.  You could also run those startup diag tests to see if they show anything.  I believe it is one of the options on the Boot Devices menu.

Yeah I'll just give it to them since it's just been 2 days lol.

But thank you so much for helping! You've been great!

Can't say the same for Dell though. What a nightmare.
