DELL XPS 15 9500-UHD: Failure model ?

Dear Sir/Madam,

Good Morning! I had bought a DELL XPS 15 9500 laptop (proudly launched by the DELL company, only in May 2020), in the month of May 2020, with the "15.6 UHD+ (3840 x 2400) InfinityEdge Touch Anti-Reflective 500-Nit Display" on it. I was the first customer to buy this newly launched model, and did pay 2,200 USD for this laptop. I didn't want to compromise on the quality, so spent extra bucks to buy this newly launched product. Within 3 months, I had problem with my screen on certain youtube videos. I did log a service ticket with Dell, they closed it saying it is a youtube server issue, though the same videos were working perfectly on 2 other laptops that i had/tested. In November 2020, i started getting chemical/burning smell from my laptop. I did log an another ticket with DELL for the same and that was also closed without any resolution. Just 1 week back, i started seeing a white sharp tiny dot in my screen. I did put together all the pictures/details for the same and logged a new ticket with DELL. The technical support team came back saying, the screen is burnt and needs to be replaced completely. And, on follow-up, learnt from the team that... though it is in the warranty period, they can only replace a refurbished panel. Is the BRAND NEW DELL product(recently launched DELL XPS family version) costing 2,200 USD, will have only just 6 months life ? wow! And, also the DELL doesn't stand behind their product, by replacing it with the same brand-new panel/product. Instead, offering a refurbished part. So, i could have bought a refurbished laptop itself, by spending much lesser. And the DELL technical team assures that the refurbished panel will be good and should not have any problem. I was asking the question, "If the brand new panel got burnt in 3-4 months, how can you assure that the refurbished panel will work for at least next few years". They are dumb found. I am totally fed up/frustrated with this product. If this is the type of warranty support & quality product that DELL can provide, soon will see the competitors taking over. Good Luck !

My friend had referred to DELL and so, opted for it. Is this product a garbage/failure model ? I should have opted for Lenovo instead ? I bought a Lenovo laptop for my spouse and it is 7+ years old. Not even a single issue in these 7 years. Please share your thoughts. Thank you so much. Appreciate your  response.

Thanks,
Frustrated Dell Customer.

I am having similar thougths -> lots of small issues regarding quality of hardware and software. It is not what you expect from a premium laptop with premium price

There's nowhere you'll be able to get the answer you want.

They've already told you they'll replace the screen, and yes -- it will be "refurbished" parts, as all warranty replacement parts are classified (not just from Dell, but from everyone else as well).

No, they won't replace your used -- it's not new any longer -- system with a new one.  Even a refurbished replacement system is offered only after three failed repair attempts for the same problem.

Your terms of sale/warranty are here

I even tried contacting Dell's CEO, after which my case was escalated to the "Advanced Resolution Services" to no avail. The design of speakers if faulty, all are rattling. Dell has not yet redesigned them so no solution at the moment. Quality Control? No, they don't know what that is.
