Dell XPS 13 9310 - Windows 11 through Windows Update yet?

Hi.

The title says it all: Anyone got Windows 11 through Windows Update yet? I've read that the XPS 13 (9310) is supposed to be one the very first PCs to receive the regular update.

I have installed every latest update from Windows and Dell.

Cheers.

Okay, so meanwhile (as of Oct-21) I got Windows 11 regularly through Windows Update. Seems to work without any issues so far.

Microsoft is rolling out Win 11 over the next "several" months.  Can't say when anyone will get it.  Just have to check daily/periodically.

If you want it now, you can upgrade.

Download HERE   Select first option, "Windows 11 Installation Assistant" to upgrade.

Is installing Win 11 via the MS link above in any way "unofficial" und unsupported by Dell? I remember having read on some Dell web page that they "recommend" waiting for the update to be offered automatically. Any drawbacks by adopting early?

It depends on you.  If you want it now then the link and option I provided.  If you are content to wait until Microsoft offers it then that is the option for you.

I am curious if anyone is running Windows 11 on an XPS 13 (9310) yet. Any experiences?

Yes...everything seems to work except the 9310 docking station does not connect! I'm only running off wifi right now. I tried dowmnloading the docking station windows 11 driver from Dell but it seems to be incompatible right now.

I have the xps 13 9300 (2020) and went into the windows insider program to test Win 11. Tried several times to upgrade to 11 but got error 0x0000005 (something went wrong) at about 85 % into the upgrade. Waited for the final release on okt 5 and tried to upgrade but same result. I am curious if there is anyone who has done a succesfull upgrade from 10 to 11 on the xps 13 9300 (2020).

Any issues at all?  I want to upgrade, but admit to being nervous...  My Windows Update presented the option to install just now!

You are lucky!  I have problems in various areas. Some that I'm aware of at this moment

  • On one hand, bluetooth mouse and other peripherals mostly work.  On the other hand, bluetooth audio doesn't work.  In fact it's so bad, that when I connect a bluetooth audio device, it connects, then a couple of minutes later it cuts out all audio devices and I have to restart the whole computer to get wired audio working again (taking care not to connect a bluetooth device).  I've tried updating and all sorts and it doesn't help
  • I'm now encountering problems with the inbuilt XPS camera and Windows 11

I would dearly like to see some updates that solve these problems.  They seem to be unique to the Dell XPS series.  Perhaps I should not have assumed that XPS would be compatible with WIndows 11 for at least 12 months to give Dell time to produce drivers?

What is your exact Model Number?

My desktop was upgraded from Win 10 to Win 11, still have all older Wiin 10 drivers and all is working properly.

Hello!

Anyone using XPS 13 9310 2-in1 (late 2021) here? And are there issues?

I'm on Win 10 Pro and planning to upgrade to Win 11. But, since I use this laptop for everyday work, I'm scared it may cause issues. I have no extra/old laptop anymore.

Thank you in advance!

I've been using it since day one on this machine, and it's fine. There were initial issues with Killer WiFi 6, but that's been fixed since.

I see also some of the 9310's now come with Win 11 by default, so it must be available now as a stock installation.
