Dell XPS 13 9360 Windows Update makes my computer unusable
I'm sure a lot of people must have this same problem, but can't find the latest status. Appreciate if anyone can point me to the right thread...
Since around Aug 2018 I've had some major issues with my XPS 13 9360 - program crashes, BSOD, a few total meltdown and complete reinstallations, etc... After a lot of time and money spent I've narrowed this down to Windows Update (I'll spare you the long story).
Can't seem to disable Windows Update over the long-term - about every other day it turns back on and begins installing updates. Fine. Nothing against security updates, but I also need my laptop to function. Every time I boot up I check my update status, disable any updates in progress, roll my "Services" settings back... until I know that new updates are not going to ruin my computer.
Anyone have a clue if there is a specific update that's causing problems for Dell? Any progress on getting this addressed in drivers and BIOS updates?

You may be getting some updates not related to Windows Update but come through that same process. Possibly a driver or some type of extension is involved.
If you have the actual BSOD dump files you could make them available with a link to your OneDrive, but unless more info is available, maybe even Event Viewer logs, not much we can do. All I can tell you is that none of my systems seem to be having such a problem.
If you started having problems in August, do you remember anything you did regarding the system? Any new devices or software installed? If you have external devices, you might think about removing them for testing.

No changes in August that I can think of. Only devices I have I've already ruled out - unless I'm missing something. I keep my software and externals pretty basic.
Just checking if this is a known issue.
I'll go ahead and let Windows install the updates and if I get a BSOD I'll share the logs. I now have access to another computer for work so I can get back to fixing this one.
