Flickering strip on screen. Touchscreen still working
I was typing on word charging my laptop when a 1.5 inch strip appeared in the center of the screen flickering. It's horizontally. Everything under the strip is now darker than the top of the screen, which is still in tact. The touchscreen still works so I'm not sure where the problem is

Run a screen diagnostic (hold D through powerup) or attach an external monitor. If the fault shows during the screen test, and doesn't show on an external screen, the screen is faulty and will need to be replaced.
If the fault doesn't show during the screen self-test and does show on an external monitor, it's the GPU that is faulty and the mainboard will need to be replaced.
