I have a: (A7) Me Downgrade - Request MeSpiLock Failed POST error on two devices... :-(
I have since some weeks on two xps12 the same issue.
When I boot, I have a "(A7) Me Downgrade - Request MeSPILock" message.
Strange thing is, that I use Dell update and I am on the latest Version of Bios as well as Management Engine drivers.
As the same issue is on two machines I have looked around a lot.
There are some "solutions" in the net like:
Others said that using legacy mode and then returning to uefi mode with secure boot would help. Not on my laptops.
So I tried myself to downgrade bios, upgrade bios - various versions and also downgrade and upgrade me drivers. Nothing helps.
Only strange thing was, that sometimes bios could not upgrade the ME part. But when doing it a second time it seemed to work.
....but not with the desired result that the MeSpiLock message disappears.
Anyone here who has an idea?

Unisys technician looked up dell support site for this error message and said it recommends changing BIOS to enable safe boot. However I am looking for solution that avoids this change as configuration with safe boot disabled must be supported.

same issue when I installed a new Dell motherboard, when I stared it up the first time it rolled back the bios version (no idea why) and I have tried everything from reverting back to bios 10.1 and slowly one by one back up to 17 (18 now)
for whatever reason it wont access the menu to clear NVRAM (CNT -ESC) when plugging in the power adapter.
Reinstalled all the INTEL controller drivers
3rd call to Dell technical support and last person said probably need a new motherboard
have another call scheduled with them next week ........
older dell bios upgrades has command line switches to force NVRAM/ ME Flash flush
Running out of ideas here
