No audio through external display XPS15 9570 when gaming

Is anyone having issues with external display audio? For me external display audio only works if the laptop is using the Intel graphics card (ie. chrome web browser using YouTube) If I run a game that uses the Geforce graphics then I get no sound from the external display, it just comes from the laptop speakers instead. (In both cases above the sound mixer is set to the external display source. I have also tried two different external displays, as well as trying HDMI and USB-C ports from the laptop) I never used to have this issue, wonder if it's related to latest Windows update?

After 2 hours of trying everything with Dell remote desktop support yesterday we managed to solve this by:

1. Disable the Intel UHD Graphics 630 in Device Manager > Display adapters

2. Download and install the official NVIDIA drivers from NVIDIA's site, make sure to download the 'DCH' variant, not the standard one.

Once installed and restarted, then re-enable Intel Graphics the problem went away.
