Premium Support Plan Transfer From Previous Owner to New

So I recently purchased an Open Box dell xps laptop with the Premium Support Plan from Micro Center. Apparently, the previous owners also purchased a premium support plan with it and returned the laptop right away, making it open box which I later purchased. I went to check the status of the warranty online by entering the Service Tag, and the start and end dates of the PSP did not match with my purchase start and end dates. Apparently, the plan is still showing up for the old customers who returned the laptop.

How do I get my warranty to show up in Dell's system. This way, if something happens to my xps, I am assuming the previous owner's information will appear in Dell's system and I will not be covered, even though I paid for my own Dell Premium Support plan.

Any help/comment will be appreciated.

I purchased an XPS9370 (previously owned) that shows remaining 2 1/2 years of premium support, but I do not have the original purchasers name and zip code. Am I out of luck on transferring the warranty?
