Recommended Data Cable for Dell XPS 13 9310

Hi, just wondering can anyone recommend a suitable data cable which will work consistently with the XPS 13 9310? 

I use my XPS 13 for photography, and a lot of the time I shoot tethered to the laptop.  However, I've found that the system randomly disconnects in the middle of shooting photos.  I've switched off all the power saving options in Device Manager and Power manager to try to prevent the laptop managing the power delivery to the USB ports, however the issue is still there. 

I've tried various cables including a number of Thunderbolt cables, but the issue remains.  The cable length needs to be a minimum of 1.5m -2m to allow me to work comfortably.  

At this stage I'm assuming its a cable issue, but if anyone else has had similar issues and resolved them in a different manner, I'd be glad to know.
