XPS 13 9300 (Full HD+) screen uniformity issues -- does this bother anyone?

I got my first XPS 13 9300 (Full HD+ version) in March. At that point, I noticed that there was a region on the screen, right of centre, with a vertical stripe that seemed to take on a slight green tint, apparent mostly on white or grey backgrounds. It's not something that is visible at first glance, but after staring at a webpage with white background for a while, it gets somewhat annoying.

It is hard to capture on camera as-is, so I boosted the contrast and took a photo here: https://imgur.com/a/I3aycKP. You can see that where I circled, there is a slight green tint to the screen on the right, and then a smaller area towards the left of the screen which also has a slight green tint (which I didn't circle).

So Dell replaced the screen (in front of my eyes, so I know they did not just 'pretend' to replace the screen). The replacement screen also had the same issues, though it was slightly more severe on the left side as well, and had a dead pixel towards the top of the screen. Got the second screen replaced, and third screen seemed fine for the most part, until I discovered a scratch on the screen one or two weeks later (no idea how it got there).

Due to the scratch and another issue I had with the microSD card slot, Dell eventually agreed to give me a 1-1 replacement under Accidental Damage Warranty. Initially I was hopeful that I would not face the same screen uniformity issue again (given that my new unit was manufactured in May and hopefully all the QC issues would've been sorted out), but my new set also came with the same screen uniformity issue, also in the form of vertical bars on the left-middle and right-middle of the screen with slightly green tint. At this stage, I am already well out of my return period and I think I do not want to go through the hassle and uncertainty of requesting for a replacement already, so I will probably just live with it (since there are no other major screen imperfections like horrible backlight bleed or dead pixels on this set).

I also went to visit the local Dell stores in my country, and 2 out of the 3 sets I saw had the same issue on the Full HD+ unit.

So to anyone that is owning the Full HD+ version of the XPS 13 9300, have you encountered such issues and you just live with it, or it does not trouble you at all? I noticed no one has posted on such issues with the XPS 9300 before.

Hi, I have the exact same issue on my Dell XPS 9300. It was only after a month that I observed the vertical strips of blue tint on either side of the display. The tint on this display is not uniform. The middle portion (vertical middle strip) seems warmer compared to the either sides of the display. It is permanently visible on white backgrounds and while surfing the web pages (white background). It does not show up on any other color but white.

I can't can get over it since the day I noticed it. This is really unfortunate because Dell XPS displays are considered one of the best in the industry. I am really annoyed and I can't ignore it even if I want because I basically sub web most of the time.

I am in India and I purchased it from Amazon India. However, the return window has closed. I love everything else about the laptop but don't know what to do now. I don't feel like taking it to the service centre because I am not sure if the new display will solve the issue given the inconsistency in the display quality. I am afraid that I may end up with a worse display.

what would you suggest?

In the end I could not take it and sold the laptop. My new laptop also has slight screen uniformity issues (though not in the form of two vertical strips), so it seems like a "normal" thing to have to live with these days.

I'm not sure if a screen replacement might help. I saw some of the 4K units in store exhibiting the same issue too. Probably a matter of luck I guess.

It's a shame how even buying premium laptops has become a gamble in terms of the display quality. There is just so much inconsistency within the same lineup of products. Laptop manufacturers need to up their QC game.

Which laptop did you get after selling off your XPS?
