XPS 13 9300 has problems when trying to use external display LG 38WK95C-W
I have the XPS 13 9300 with the latest BIOS & Firmware upgrades. I'm using an external display (LG 38WK95C-W in case that's relevant) via direct USB-C connection.
But every time I try use the external display it takes roughly five tries until it actually works. Or I have to wait like five minutes until it works. Before I'm just getting black screens.
I used the display already before with a very similar setup (XPS 15 9550 & Ubuntu) and had no issues. But this black screen issue appeared since I switched to the XPS 13 9300.
This happens on Ubuntu Linux and Windows 10, thus it seems to be a hardware or firmware issue on the XPS 13 9300.
Do you have any advice what to do in these cases?

For others encountering this: Dell support doesn't seem to be able to fix this. Also instead of having a transparent solution here, the communication is done via Private Messages and every answer is coming as a separate thread.
So this becomes very confusing and is not helpful at all.
