XPS 13 9315 cannot set best resolution for Dell 2407WFP external monitor

Hi,

I just purchased XPS 13 9315. I also got this docking station . I'm connecting my old, but still very good, Dell monitor 2407WFP via its DVI connector.

So, I'm connecting from the docking station using HDMI cable to HDMI-to-DVI adapter to my monitor. My laptop does recognize the monitor. BUT it will not let me set the resolution on that monitor to 1920x1200 and only allows 1920x1080. When I try, via the Intel Graphics Command Center, to input custom resolution of 1920x1200 it comes back with "bad parameters".

Is there a way this monitor can be set to 1920x1200 resolution with my new XPS 13 9315?

Thank you.

Thank you for the reply.  The article you pointed at states the following:

NOTE: High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) or DisplayPort (DP) monitor connections are required for the Custom Resolutions option. VGA and DVI display connections are not supported.

So since I'm connected via HDMI cable from docking station to monitor's DVI (adapter), should I even bother trying the steps outlined in the article? I'm not sure how to interpret the note...?

Thank you.
