Hello everyone,

After i have replaced my dell XPS 13 (9350) wireless card after i found out it doesnt work anymore, the WIFI capability and its bluetooth. I replaced it with Intel Ac dual 8265 with the correct procedure but everythingg still the same, wifi and bluetooth still doesnt work at all. Ive done a lot of troubleshooting like driver update, bios and even reseting my  pc, but its still the same. Any suggestions?

I will assume you are running Win 10?  There is an Intel WiDi driver available for download.  Have you installed that driver and do you know what device it is for?  I am not suggesting you install it, just asking..  If you are allowing a Dell utility to update your drivers, you might stop that for testing..

If neither card works, possibly a electrical/mechanical problem with its operation..  If you were to be getting a weak signal it might indicate the antenna are not connected correctly or perhaps not installed correctly..

Beyond that the only thing I can suggest is to have the latest driver available and I get mine directly from Intel.  Then go offline and uninstall the Wi-Fi adapter in the Device Manager and check the box to uninstall all drivers..

Then install the new driver you downloaded.  After installing, make sure it has rebooted before you go back online..

Windows will replace a Wi-Fi driver faster than you can blink, so check the version of the driver which was installed against the one you currently show to make sure it changed.

I already did install this Intel WiDi from dell drivers site. Its still didnt work. Nothing happened after rebooting.

I tried to install also the ‘Intel PROset/ Wireless Software’ but I got a prompt says “Installation Blocked. This software package cannot be installed om your system”.
i checked in Device manager and says my wireless adapter hardware is working properly.

I really dont know why. I am out of options. The only thing i can do again as last resort is buy another wireless adapter that is compatible and try to install it and see if will work. If not, maybe its something else.

I will check my laptop that has the 8265 and check its settings.

In the Device Manger, on the device's properties window in an Events tab.  You might look at that and see if it is showing continuous driver installs or other problems.  You have to scroll the window and click on and entry to see what the description is..

A new driver may give that can't install message.  That is why I have that driver downloaded and go offline.  Uninstall the Wireless adapter and check the box to uninstall all drivers.  Then install the other driver and it may want to remove a prior install or offer a repair install..  Only after rebooting will I go back online..

You did not accidently use some key combination or physical switch to turn it off?

My 8265, which is soldered in, is running the driver version 20.70.15.1  and shows no events since Feb 2, 2020..

@Saltgrass Hi bro. Thanks for the reply.
I still cant figure out what really went wrong.
but this issue was already almost a year old now.

My previous card was Dell 1820 something which is default installed when I bought this laptop XPS 13 (9350)

I already did a lot of troubleshooting before I actually changed my Wireless Card, like unsinstalling drivers, updating it, downgrading, re-installing my OS, etc. Nothing works. It is still the same after. Both Bluetooth & Wifi still dead.

So I came up buying a wireless card which is this Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 8265, which is compatible on my PC as per manufacturer but until now it still dont work at all.

When I check in Device Manager, it says device is working properly.

Today, I tried to do some troubeshooting again. I uninstall the device in the Device Manager, and restarted my PC, still the same. I also tried installing the latest driver “Intel 3165/7265/8260/8265 WiFi Driver” but it always got blocked saying ‘Installation Blocked: The Software package cannot be installed on your system’

the last event i could see from the Device Manager properties-> Events is “Device installed (network06.inf_amd64*****) and the information says “Driver Management concluded the process to install the driver- bla bla bla....... with the following status 0x0”

I am out of option now what to do next. Do you also have the same issues like this?

please help me resolving this issue.

thanks in advance.

I have seen the can't install driver before but the card was still active.  It does concern me the card seems to be completely dead.  Something on the system may have failed..
