XPS 13 9360 SSD power question
The SSD of my XPS is diagnosed as damage. I have to change a new one. The old PM951 SSD is 3.3V and 1.5A marking on the label. The new 970 EVO is 3.3V and 2.7A and other bands also have higher current 2.5A something.
My question is does the current difference cause compatibility issue once 2.7A replaces 1.5A?

Thanks for your recommendation. Eventually I selected WD SN570, the power consumption is 6W (3.3V*1.8A) which is close to the original 5W. There is no problem after few days running.

Compatibility will be fine -- that said, the new drive uses appreciably more power, so expect a drop in battery runtime and expect the system to run hotter with the new SSD.

Like ejn63 said you don't need to worry, it will work just fine; a higher Amperage means it uses more power to work, so your battery will last less than with the old SSD.
You are choosing an SSD actually well known for its rather extreme power consumption... just by the number you have posted, you can say that your new SSD will consume up to 4W more than the old one. But the thing is, from what I remember reading on magazines, it's during idling that it does considerably worse than other NVMe SSDs: its power consumption is much higher than other SSDs, up to three times.
There are high performance NVMe SSDs much more power efficient than the 970 EVO Plus, it's not the best laptop choice (battery-wise) in my opinion.
