XPS 13 9360 not connecting to ac wifi on asus rt-68u

Hi, My xps 13 9360 cannot see the 5Ghz network on my asus rt-68u when all other devices at home can see and connect to the 5G network. After some experimentation on the router settings, the xps 13 can see and connect to the 5G ac network if a set the channel to 48 or lower. However the signal strength on this channel is not optimal (around -79 dB). If I leave the channel with the default (channel 149), the signal strength is around -65 dB. I think my Killer Wireless-n/a/ac 1535 network adapter driver is at its latest version 12.0.0.720 at 23/07/2018. I would very much like to use the higher channels on my router so my connection will be more stable. Hope you can advice. Regards, Art

Have you used the Killer Wireless control panel to look at your Wireless signals?

If updating your router firmware doesn’t fix it, Killer WiFi seems to have a lot of issues. It may get better now that Intel has bought then, but I believe the card in that system was created before that happened. If all else fails, consider just buying an Intel 8265 or 9260 (not a 9560). They only cost about $30 and the installation is fast. Any repair shop would be able to do it in a few minutes if you’re not comfortable with it. Either way, Dell provides step-by-step instructions for replacing every component in the system in the Manuals section of support.dell.com to help.
