Does Dell provide a fix to their wrong official LCD firmware?

thanks for the advice. this seems like customers cheating as the firmware is listed on Dell driver download site with a valid service tag. however, it will break the LCD, and then the only way to revert is to pay to Dell for the warranty.

It will, only if the system is in-warranty and the upgrade was authorized during a technical support call. Otherwise, no.
And I think if you search the forums, there's no way to recover the older firmware in the event of a failed flash, for whatever reason (power loss, use of the incorrect firmware for your screen model, etc.). The only way to recover from a failed flash is to replace the screen.
