XPS 13 PLUS 9320 - Dead, except for amber light on touchpad
The screen went black while I was working and now it won't power on at all. The only sign of life is an amber light in the centre of the function key touchpad. Have tried a hard reset (disconnecting the battery), MBIST, leaving it on charge for an extended period etc. Nothing worked. Not really sure what else to do. Laptop is about a month old.

If it's less than 30 days from shipment, call and either arrange a refund or a replacement system.
If it's more than 30 days from shipment, call and arrange a warranty replacement of the system board.

Howdy ejn63, thanks for the reply. I spent some time with support over the phone and the suspicion is that the system board is broken/damaged/blown (as, I guess, you have suggested).
It is just outside the 30 days, so they (Dell) are sending a technician to replace the system board.
