XPS 13 Serial Number Can't Be Found on Dell Website
I've purchased an XPS 13 9370 laptop, but not directly through Dell. Unfortunatey when searching on the Dell website the serial number cannot be found. Is there a way to get this laptop registered? I'd like to purchase an extended warrenty.

You cannot purchase warranty from Dell for a secondhand computer. Extended warranties must be purchased when buying a new computer from Dell or within the one year warranty. It is not economical to buy a warranty that would cost half the value of the computer anyway.
But you should be able to find the service tag at the Dell site if the computer was originally sold in the US. (Do not post that tag here in the forum since it is not allowed.) The service tag is on a sticker on the computer and is also listed in the bios. However--You don't really need it to get drivers and downloads. Find all the drivers at Dell Support by model name and number.
