Dell Inspiron 7460 brightness controls not working

Hi everybody,

My brightness controls were working fine until the update this morning. When I updated my computer all of a sudden the brightness controls stopped working. Is there anyway to fix this?

I tried running hardware scans, going to computer management, trying to change it to "generic pnp monitor" but it just doesnt work. Its weird, all the other controls work, the audio works, the keyboard backlight works the only one is the screen brightness.

Any ideas?

If it is an F key that controls the brightness, try using the FN function key along with the F key for brightness--or the reverse if the FN + F is what you normally use. This is from the manual--

NOTE: Press Fn+Esc to switch the primary behavior of the function keys (F1–F12) between two modes – multimedia key mode and function key mode.

See the manual for more info.
