XPS 13 touch screen not showing in device manager

I've had my xps 13 for a while now, and I've used the touch screen at various points, but I keep it disabled when I'm not using it, to save battery power (and to avoid accidental clicks). For the last few months, I haven't been able to re-enable the touch screen. I used to be able to open Device Manager>Human Interface Devices>HID-compliant touch screen (right next to HID-compliant touch pad, but now the touch screen isn't there as an option, so I can't re-enable it. I used View>Show hidden devices and it isn't in there either. I also accessed the BIOS menu and disabled and re-enabled the touch screen through the BIOS, but it didn't change anything with Device Manager. What else can I do to re-enable my touch screen?

I tried that near the beginning of December and I haven't received any response.

First thing to check is that the cable running between the display and mainboard is undamaged and properly plugged in -- if you need a reference to the service manual, post the full model number (XPS 9333, 9350, etc.).
