XPS 15 9570, WD15, not charging, #4
My laptop recently stopped charging when plugged into my WD15 180W. It says it is plugged in when attached to the dock and charges fine on the AC adapter, however, it does not charge from the dock. All the things attached to my dock (monitor, keyboard, mouse, ect.) work fine but simply does not charge. Any ideas of a solution?

@Thofe that would suggest the charging circuit from the wall to the WD15 is complete. Going by that logic would suggest the problem is with the usb-c cable that runs from the dock to the laptop.
That cable is available as a separate component without needing to replace the full dock. The part number for that cable assembly is 50M23.
You could contact our out of warranty team in the US for a price for this part. Alternatively, it can be sourced from other 3rd party sources
Instructions on how to replace the cable can be found here - page 21

@Thofe thanks for getting in touch.
To confirm what you have said - the laptop charges fine when connected directly to the ac adaptor but doesn't charge when running through the docking station - is this correct?
a) Have you changed anything on the system recently i.e any BIOS updates or hardware changes?
b) If you disconnect the docking station from the system and reconnect it does it then start charging?
c) Is there any looseness to the usb-c port on the laptop?
d) If you wiggle the usb-c port in the laptop does it then charge correctly?
e) Is there any damage to the usb-c cable that connects to the laptop?
f) On the underside of the dock there should be a sticker with a manufacturing date - can you provide that date please.
I'll drop you a private message to get your service tag details.

No recent changes in the system when the charger stopped. Since then I have updated my windows and that hasn't changed a thing. When I disconnect then reconnect, it does not say it is charging, it only says it is plugged in. There does not seem to be any looseness of the USB-C port. Wiggling the port does nothing. The connecting cable is in fine condition. I see no date of manufacturing on the bottom of my product.

@Thofe it's strange that any peripherals connected to the docking station function but it doesn't charge the laptop.
The would suggest that there is either a problem with the charging circuit on the dock, or the cable to the laptop.
What colour is the led on the ac adaptor that connects to the docking station?
Do you have access to another docking station ac adaptor that you could use for testing?
Do you have any other usb-c systems that you could connect the dock to for testing?

My XPS 15 9570 just started having this problem today. I am wondering if the original poster resolved his issue by replacing the cable--this seems very unlikely to me.
