XPS 15 9570, crackling noise when fans are on

Hello,

I hear a weird crackling / rattling noise when fans turn on. This is happening since my motherboard has been replaced last week by DELL support. I made a couple of videos:

Any ideas or solutions? I'm opening a support ticket right now.

Do you notice any performance issue & does the noise start from the time you turn on the computer?

Please run a hardware diagnostics by following the video on this link http://bit.ly/2fJuGXB & check if there is an error.

Hi, there are no performance issues, the noise starts when fans are on. I ran hardware diagnostics and I get the following message: Hardware issue(s) detected on your PC. Click Fix Now to learn more and resolve. There is NO Fix Now button though, just a Skip button.

The issue persists, and I have received any feedback on this yet. Neither I received a reply to my support ticket.

My XPS just started making the exact noise - have you received any resolution?

Hey Scash, my XPS just stopped making that noise a couple of week after I contacted the support, so I didn't investigate further. The only thing I remember is that I tried running the heavier CPU and GPU tests using the DELL utility which made the fans spin at maximum speed for 10-20 minutes. Then I kept working with my laptop normally and noticed the noise to be less frequent, and now it is disappeared. Best of luck
