XPS 15-9570, lost ethernet connection

I normally use an ethernet connection for my 9570 via a CalDigit TS3 Plus docking station connected to the computer via a Thunderbolt 3 cable. I sometimes work outside, so I disconnect the Thunderbolt cable and used the AC adapter outside. When I reconnected the Thunderbolt cable, my ethernet connection would not re-establish. A couple of sites from a Google search recommended uninstalling the ethernet network adapter in Device Manager and then rebooting, when the computer would reactivate the network adapter. It did not. The modem is OK (tested it on a Mac Mini on my network) and the ethernet cable is OK. Dell telephone support was no help. I know I should have jotted down the name of the ethernet adapter, but I did not. It was an Intel Gigabit something or other. I cannot find the name of this thing anywhere (Dell and everyone else assumes that I should be using a wireless connection, which I am now, temporarily). If someone has a new 9570, could you please have a look in Device Manager and let me know the name of the ethernet adapter? Maybe it will help me get it recognized somehow. Even better, if someone knows how to do this, please let me know.

Macdefector,

Check pages 7 and 8 in the online XPS 15-9570 Setup and Specifications PDF. There is not a hardware ethernet. The XPS 15-9570 does not have a listing for ethernet in the Device Manager. The BIOS only list WiFi and Bluetooth because they are hardware. The PC uses a Realtek USB GBE Ethernet Controller driver to simulate ethernet.

"When I reconnected the Thunderbolt cable, my ethernet connection would not re-establish."
The XPS 15-9570 should be turned off, then reconnect the CalDigit TS3 Plus dock via TB cable to the XPS 15-9570, then turn the XPS 15-9570 on.

Hope this helps! My XPS 9570 is brand new.

Did you get any further with this?

I am having similar problem with my 9575.  The Ethernet never showed up.  Caldigit Support is no help so far.

That Device Manager screenshot did not show any Ethernet devices.  Does anyone know if there should be an Ethernet device in that list?
