XPS 15 pugged in-not charging
My 2.5 years old XPS 15, until yesterday, was working fine with the maximum of the health of the battery. Now it works only with the AC adaptor pugged in and the power light is flashing orange. According to the bios diagnostic the battery is dead and I need to change it. Can I order thoughtless a new battery or is there the risk that the issue is with the motherboard or something else??
Thank you in advance for your help

@Lorenzo6
You have a few options to purchase a new battery.
Dell Parts and Accessories:
https://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/partsforyourdell/index
The Parts People:
https://www.parts-people.com/shop/dell-parts/catalog/
eBay:
https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=GPM03&_sacat=0&LH_PrefLoc=1&_sop=15&LH_ItemCondition=3&rt=nc&_udlo=10
XPS 15 Service Manual:
https://www.dell.com/support/manuals/us/en/04/xps-15-9560-laptop/xps-15-9560-service_manual/removing-the-battery-full-length?guid=guid-355ffabd-659c-4427-88aa-60e0e3dbb1d9&lang=en-us
If you every plan to add a 2.5" SSD/HDD you may want to consider purchasing a half length battery???
But you lose the extended time you can run on the battery.
I hope this has been helpful.

Welcome to the Dell Community @Lorenzo6
It does sound like the battery has failed???
To better assist you, we would need the exact model number of your laptop/desktop???
Identify your Dell:

@Lorenzo6
It is not common but I have seen them just die all at once.
Your laptop has one of 2 batteries???
Full length??
Or half length???
Do you know the battery part number???
You could search your Service Tag and find the part number that came with the laptop.

Thank you for your reply @U2CAMEB4ME
Apparently it is the battery, but isn't it weird that it died without giving any symptoms before??
The model of my notebook is XPS 15 9560
Thank you again
Best,
Lorenzo

@U2CAMEB4ME
It Should be a single full battery:
