XPS 17 9700 Power button does not turn off when running on battery!
When I try to turn off my XPS 17 by pressing the power-button, the laptop does not power off.
This only happens when the laptop is running on on battery!
When the charger is connected, power down button works.
In the previous BIOS, it was not possible to power off the laptop in any case.
Now Dell again has software quality issues!

I apologise if it's a silly advice, but have you checked in Control Panel, under Power Options, "Choose what the power button does", that Shut Down is correctly selected when the laptop is on battery too, an not just when plugged in?

I checked that and it's both set to shutdown when pressed.
