XPS 17 Explorer does not see WD SSD when plugged into Dell DA20 adapter
Adapter that came w New Laptop is seen, but the MY Passport SSD attached is not seen.
No Events found!

@KelpFrog Do other USB devices work when connected through that adapter? Does the WD SSD work properly with that system when connected through some other adapter?

Thumb drives Are seen w the dell adapter. I tried using a Belkin USB-C to USB-A adapter cable- Same result NO See !

@KelpFrog Sounds like it could be a problem with the SSD then. But where are you actually looking for the SSD? If you’re just looking in Windows File Explorer, check Device Manager or Disk Management. It’s possible that the disk is detected but you need to initialize it, or format a partition, or assign a drive letter.

Works fine with Asus win 10 laptop. passes self test, no errors ,recent format. Is NOT seen in disk management OR Device Manager- refresh /scan for hardware changes . . . nothing. !

Dell Update sez no BIOs update. cmd check version = 1.7.2
