XPS 7390 2 in 1 and Wireless Mesh Network
I have a new XPS 7390 2 in 1, and I have to admit, I am getting a little frustrated with it. Nothing seems to work properly driver-wise. Earlier, I had an issue with it connecting to dual external monitors with my passive USB-C hub (which my work Lenovo and my wife's HP do just fine). I gave up and bought a second USB-C to HDMI adapter.
Next on the list is Wi-Fi. We have a Google Wi-Fi system with 3 hubs. These work fantastically with all our other devices; no lagging, and no deadspots anywhere.
The Dell struggles with this for whatever reason. Every 15 to 20 minutes or so, it seems to drop the connection, or I will notice that data transmission comes to a halt and will say that the page cannot load. If I check my internet connection, it shows that I am connected to "Internet 2." (Our wireless network is called "Internet.") I have to manually disconnect it from "Internet 2" and connect it to "Internet," and then it works fine. I don't know why it's doing this. None of the other devices have this issue, or even display two separate networks for our meshed routers; they just work.
Any idea what's going on here? For the record, I uninstalled the original drivers and went straight to the Killer site and have downloaded and installed all their latest ones.
If this thing has a screwy, connection issues with its soldered-on network adapter, I'm going to return it.

@Jwhite326 are you seeing "Internet 2" shown as the network you are connected to only AFTER you join your network called "Internet", or are you seeing "Internet 2" listed as an available WiFi network? If it's the former, that behavior typically occurs when Windows joins a network that has an SSID (WiFi network name) that it has already seen, but determines that it is in fact a different network from the one it has previously seen. For example if you and your neighbor were both using the network name "My Home Network", you'd see "My Home Network 2" while connected to one of them. However, that "network identity" determination is typically made by checking the default gateway on a home network, so even if you had multiple WiFi access points on your network, that shouldn't be causing this. I have a mesh network myself and don't see this behavior on any of my systems. And I can't account for why you'd only be seeing this behavior on this particular system, unless maybe either your other systems might be running a different release of Windows or might be located in a place that causes them never to connect to certain other base stations in your mesh network -- even though as I said that shouldn't be causing this behavior anyway.
If you're seeing both Internet and Internet 2 listed as available WiFi networks, that may indeed be some sort of driver-induced behavior, perhaps either having separate listings for each individual access point or having separate entries for 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks even if you're using the same name for each. But neither of those behaviors would be typical practice nor especially desirable. You shouldn't have to choose which specific access point to join, nor which band you want to use. I have to say I'm surprised you're having issues with Killer on a relatively recent system though. Problems with Killer were decently well known a while back, but Intel acquired them not too long ago, and things seemed to have improved since then. In fact I think the latest Killer WiFi chipsets are just Intel WiFi with the ability to use some special driver package, although I'm not 100% sure about that.
The only thing I can suggest doing if you haven't already would be to update your system BIOS. I know that sounds like a long shot, but I've read BIOS update release notes that mention improvements to WiFi performance. Otherwise, I'm not immediately sure what to suggest here. Sorry!

Hello. I am sorry to know that the system has network connectivity issues. Have you tried to disconnect, forget the Wireless network and tried reconnecting to see if that makes any difference? ^MP

The same thing is happening to me. Has been happening since I got the laptop in April. My tech people tell me it's me. I was using an Orbi wireless mesh network. Yesterday I bought a Google Nest wireless mesh network to see if it would work and it is the same problem. Clearly the 7390 2 in 1 is a lemon.
