XPS 9500: How can S3 sleep not be working?

Question

This is ridiculous. In 2020 a laptop should be able to consistently use BOTH S3 Sleep and Modern Standby.

Modern Standby is a mess which currently turns the XPS 9500 into a toaster while it is meant to be ASLEEP.

S3 is needed to properly suspend a Linux machine, which is a user base you have committed to by selling devices with linux installed.

Proper sleep needs to be a basic function of a laptop in 2020. Anything else is unacceptable!

It doesn't matter how good your battery or power management is if my laptop drains 100% battery over night while it is meant to be asleep!

Please make fixing these well documented sleep bugs a priority and push out a BIOS update to make your devices work properly.

This is such a great laptop, it would be a shame for people to abandon it because of a smallish BIOS issue. Hope this gets resolved soon so we can buy it for our employees.

That's disappoint as s3 is working on 9570 which is just 3 years older model. What  is so special about this bios that cannot be fixed? We are now 1 year after the release of this model and nothing changed. On ubuntu I can put in s3, but then it never wakes up, and I've to rely on 'modern' standby

Usually,  I don't like hot machines. I have a Dell laptop and it performs just like an oven sometimes. Anyways Dell should response to their valuable customers to address this issue. Clockwork

It is 2025, and It's not been resolved yet.Why only s2idle?! My laptop drains 20-25% over night.Any idea, what to do?
