XPS 9560, motherboard failure, stranded without part
This is not what I expected from "Next Business Day" type of service... Is DELL deliberately slowing down service/support or running out of money or ... is my luck just bad or ....?
Dell people on here.. can you talk me down off the ledge? I have loved dell for 10+ years and that is all i've ever bought both professionally and personally but at this point I'm starting to lose trust.
I have a 2 year old Dell XPS 9560. In November the USB-C port stopped working. (6 weeks ago).
I was using the USBC port to drive a DisplayPort display... it stopped working. I switched to using the HDMI port... and now that has stopped working also. I can no longer get any external monitor to work with my XPS. I have (of course) tested the monitor and cable with other computers and they are fine... and this setup used to work fine.
So: I called dell... and they said need new motherboard.. OK, no problem. I understand...
But now they don't have the motherboard and so.... keep pushing back the day of eventual repair/replace. First the part was available (i forget exactly) 12/5... then 12/17.... and now 1/4.... and in the mean time I'm stuck.
Does anyone know what is going on w/ Dell and XPS motherboards? Should we be escalating this as a group or am I the only one? (PS: I know I'm not the only one since I know of at least one other XPS with essentially the same problem....)
thanks,

Update January 2, 2021 =
I'm following up regarding the system issue and see that the service booked is completed. We understand that there was a delay in getting the service finished, and I apologize for the inconvenience caused. We hope you had a chance to test the system further to check if everything is working fine. Continue using the system further and if you need any technical assistance, drop us a message here, and we will do our best to get it fixed for you.

Lots of supply shortages now because the crazy conditions. After the holidays, the situation should improve. At least you have successfully connected with support. We are users here in the forum so we can only sympathize.
