Xps 15" laptop graphics card refresh
Hi all.
Obviously there is no definitive info, just looking for some educated guesses on when the xps 15" laptop refresh will occur and what graphics cards it will have.
Specifically is the thermal enevelope and power draw of the 30 series mobile processors a feasible reach for current xps designs? That would indicate they may do 30 series with an intel 12th gen refresh in 2022.
Background: i have a 3 year old xps 9560 with an Nvidia 1050 and 8th gen i7. I want to upgrade but the current xps range isnt enough of a leap. The 20 series nvidia it seems dell will wisely skip, so im left speculating when the graphics cards will see a refresh.
Please no comments on "nobody knows". I know this. Im just asking for some educated guesses based on logic.
Also no comments on seeking alternative laptops. There are several reasons i want to go xps.
Cheers

Given the presence of Alienware in the market, I think you won't see a 30-series GPU option in the XPS line. If there is one, expect it to be in the XPS 17 line - -not the 15.

No one can answer that - though the 4000 series is in development (and expected in 2022), it's all speculation.
Given the production issues surrounding the 3000 series, delays are likely inevitable - and no one outside of nVidia knows what will be released or what the specs will be -- so feel free to accept any answer, as one is as valid as another at this point.
