Go to the Support page for the XPS 8930 and put in your Service Tag. (Do not post Service Tag here.) The site should give you the list of the latest available updates. You can tell by the dates which ones are new. You probably need the latest BIOS, updates for Intel chipset and Intel Management Engine, RealTek Audio, Intel HD Graphics and -depending on which video card you have- a video driver update.
Download them onto your desktop manually (NOT using SupportAssist or Dell Update). Keep track of which download name is for which driver/update.
When they're downloaded, close all open apps and all open windows. Disable your anti-viral app. Start with the BIOS (firmware) update. Right-click the .exe file on your desktop and "Run as administrator". Do not interrupt the BIOS update or turn off the PC while the BIOS update is running. When PC reboots after the BIOS update, make sure your anti-viral app is re-enabled, and running.
I would check your audio settings in Control Panel and your audio drivers in Device Manager. It is possible that upgrading the chipset driver may have caused this problem.
It's possible the audio isn't set up to use the correct audio output source after the driver update. So check to see what is selected for audio output, and/or if audio is either muted or disabled in Windows.
And if none of that helps, try reverting to the previous driver using the Roll Back button on the Drivers tab for your audio entry in Device Manager.
And you need to delete the abbreviation used for the word that would have been **Bleeped** by the forum software. If you don't remove it, you may be put on moderation and/or banned entirely. There's no place or allowance for that kind of nonsense here.

Physically bad drive may be part of the issue.
Corruption is definitely a problem.
Install clean from OEM system builder dvd and then install audio and chipset and management engine updates.

This works for all of my dells from 2006 to 2019.
