is it possible to replace the smart cooling fan on the aurora r13 with another cooler, for example the bequiet pure rock slim 2 or will the bios throw an "cpu_fan not detected"-error like it does with many other aftermarket rear fans?
Yes, it is possible . I recommend a low profile cooler something like the Noctua NH-L9x65, I would just replace the fan with the original one that has an RPM of 4000.
@Vanadiel That is not my liquid cooled R13 in the above photo, and too much time has passed for me to recall to whom to attribute credit. I think the 240mm model you linked is correct. I don't think a 280mm radiator would fit. I don't particularly like the way the tubes come straight out of the pump housing, but there is room in the R13 to make the turn. Interestingly, it has a built-in VRM fan, which I have not seen in other AIO models.
@VinodhR It looks like from the instruction manual that the "standoffs" are created from the backplate mounting screws, O-rings, and spacer nut B for LGA1700 on the bequiet! dark rock pro 4 linked..
