Aurora R5, support for RTX graphics cards?

I have a Alienware Aurora R5 Desktop

Currently has 2x GTX 1080s with 850W Power Supply

Will this machine support a RTX 3070 graphics card?

Will it support the RTX 30X0 series of graphics cards?

It should work (as long as certain common-sense conditions are met).

If you get a model that is normal height (no taller than its hold-down screws) you will not have to modify the power-supply bracket.

A similar question was asked by two users recently.  the RTX 3000 series cards are compatible with older A51 R2 by user benchmark reports.  There is good reason to believe they will also work in R5.

and here is proof too: https://www.userbenchmark.com/System/Alienware-Area-51-R5/67859

    thanks

any other things i need to be mindful of?

    1. what dimensions must the graphics card be to fit within the A5 desktop system?

    2. What power supply does a GTX 30X0 series card require?

my bad. I misunderstood your system as Area 51. It is Aurora.  Very few users installed RTX3000 series card in Aurora R5.  https://www.userbenchmark.com/System/Alienware-Aurora-R5/24303

    Aurora R5 max video card dimensions Height: 4.376" , Length: 10.5" https://www.dell.com/community/Alienware-General-Read-Only/GPU-upgrades-for-Aurora-R5/td-p/5541768

each type of 30x0 card requires different psu.  For instance 3080 is 750W, 3070 is 650W.
