I don't really want to take my backing off the PC just to see the brand type of ram inside of the PC. I got the version with an i7-8700k CPU, RX560 GPU, Alienware VDT73 motherboard, 1x8GB ram. I want to buy a second ram stick but I need to know if the corsair I'm about to buy will even be compatible.
See my post at the very top of this Alienware Desktop board, "CPU-Z, GPU-Z, Core Temp, SpeedFan". It shows you how CPU-Z SPD tab identifies the specific memory modules installed.
I can't answer what brand it is, Dell uses various but it won't be Corsair. Generally, mixing brands of memory don't work out many times, Dell, HP, Home built, etc. Best to replace both with the same brand/type. We see many memory issues on here with mixing memory. I even had it on my own built system with an ASUS ROG (Gamer) motherboard. I had some compatible Corsair memory and some GSkill. Either the Corsair or GSkill work OK but if both are installed it won't boot.
Dell specs:
Type: DDR4
Speed: 2666 MHz
Up to HyperX FURY DDR4 XMP at 2933 MHz
Inspiron 16 5630 Laptop and WD22TB4 Docking Station
Self-built desktop for recording studio application
I have 2 sticks of 16gb oem aurora r7 ram 2666mhz I am looking to sell. That's 32gb of the genuine Dell branded stuff. I replaced all my ram just weeks after getting my system so I have no use for this stuff anymore.
