Aurora R9, extremely high temps

I just bought an Alienware Aurora R9 with this config:

I7 9700 + Stock cooler

Rx 5700

16GB Ram

850 watt power

I ran all the updates, but when I ran a game launch (NCsoft) it jumped my temp from 36-88C within the span of a few minutes. I change the power mode to energy saver and it went down to 75-80C. This was with usage being 40% in ACC and 65-70% in task manager. I know the stock cooler stinks, but this seems INSANE!

I just tested Blade and soul as well as battlefield 5, both games ran fine with a high of 75C with battlefield. I changed the setting in ACC to high performance mode and my temps skyrocketed again.

I was informed by an alienware technician that these temps are completely normal. lets see how this goes.

Must be getting loud in there at those temps.  Liquid cooling is usually the way to go with a 9700 in this SFF case.

Your CPU and GPU generates heat that is trapped within the R9 chassis. You can either trust science (do some research) or trust the technician. Remember you have 30 days to get a full refund.
