I am working on an AIX virtualization project and am looking to boot from SAN disk. In my design, I considered having 2 LUNS presented to the AIX partition and mirroring as I normally at the OS level. On my current AIX servers (not virtualized) I have 2-73+ GB drives that are mirrored so I'm copying the same idea.

My question is whether I can use a single LUN and not worry about mirroring as the SAN will be RAID 5 and offer redundancy.
