update raid controller firmware on MD3000i
Hi
We have an md3000i san with dual controllers and i would like to update the raid controllers firmware.
Is it ok to move all the virutal disks onto one controller and then update the firmware on the second controller and repeat for the other controller or does I/O to the entire san have to stopped?

Hello doyleja2,
You will need to stop all I/O on the MD3000i to do the firmware upgrade. The reason is that both controllers can reboot at the same time and if it does then you will lose all access to data. There isn’t a way to just update one controller at a time as the updates starts with one controller then starts on the second controller.
