Bios update problem

Hi,

My Inspiron 3511 is facing a bios update problem today.

I'm checking if anyone else has the same problem.

I upgrade the bios of my Inspiron 3511 to 1.12.1 this morning.

After successful installation, the laptop stuck at the Dell logo screen without going into the OS.

The problem happens when I close the lid and connect my laptop to an external monitor.

If I open the lid, the laptop can go into the OS normally.

One online support engineer helped me for about half an hour without fixing the problem successfully.

In the end, I use my usb drive to revert the bios bios to 1.11.0 and the problem is resolved.

It seems to be a bios problem.

I wonder if anyone else is seeing the same.

The laptop itself is pretty good for me though.

Technically, I do not need assistance anymore after I revert my bios version. I'm fine to use an old version of bios. I just want to check if I'm the only person who is facing this problem. thx.

Yep, me too. I ran a recommended Dell BIOS update of my Inspiron 3470 desktop on May 5, and ever since then, it refuses to boot properly, getting stuck on the Dell logo. If I switch it on and immediately hit F11, it seems to boot to the last stable state. It looks like a factory reset is going to be the best solution though. Annoying. Very annoying.
